Heart Surgeon Group brings extensive experience across the full spectrum of adult cardiac surgery, from routine procedures to complex combined operations. Referrals are assessed and led by one of our two consultant surgeons, who are deeply involved in the patient’s case right from the first meeting.

Our surgeons have international training and remain active in clinical research and teaching, contributing to the development of cardiac practice in New Zealand. Supported by experienced anaesthetic, perfusion, and ICU teams, they’ve achieved life-changing outcomes for hundreds of patients across the country.

Heart Surgeon Group are able to offer access to procedures and technologies that aren’t always available within the public system, including total arterial revascularisation and advanced aortic reconstruction. The team can also use endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) and minimally invasive approaches where appropriate to reduce recovery time and post-operative discomfort.
